Our 2026 Preseason Outlook
By the StatChasers staff. Published .
Mason signed with Seattle as an undrafted free agent, and the path to fantasy relevance is essentially blocked. AJ Barner and rookie Elijah Arroyo sit firmly atop the depth chart, leaving Mason fighting for a peripheral, blocking-and-emergency-target role. In 2025 he played a touch over half his snaps as an inline tight end, working short hitch and flat routes as a chain-mover rather than a downfield threat, and the production reflected it.
The athletic testing offers little to dream on. A 4.71 forty, jumps that stall below the 58th percentile, and stiff route-running cap his ceiling, and he forced just one missed tackle while averaging 5.6 yards after the catch. Ranked outside the top 170 tight ends with no meaningful projection, Mason is a name to file away, not draft. Leave him on waivers in every format and revisit only if injuries clear a sudden runway ahead of him.
