Our Take After Week 4
Through 2 games he's TE39 at 6.4 PPR points per game, against 7.2 over 12 games last season (TE34). The role is producing the same fantasy output two years running.
Last season he ranked 30th of 81 in route participation (49.1%), 31st of 82 in target share (9.2%) and 53rd of 82 in efficiency (0.98 yards per route run). Efficiency is the soft spot. Justin Herbert is his quarterback.
He's on injured reserve, lower leg. Until he's back, his value is a bench spot at most.

Published June 17, 2026. Kept for reference; the take above replaces it.
Njoku's profile has eroded fast. After a TE6 peak in 2023 (123 targets, 882 yards, 20.6% target share), his role thinned to 15.3% on 97 targets across 11 games in 2024, then cratered to a 9.2% share, 48 targets and just 293 yards in an 11-game, injury-shortened 2025 that left him at TE39. The efficiency softened too: 0.98 yards per route run and a 47.9% success rate are well off his 1.61 and 40.7% breakout marks, and his negative EPA per play has persisted all three seasons.
The move to Los Angeles pairs him with Justin Herbert, a clear quarterback upgrade, but he must beat out a productive young tight end for the starting job and fight a deeper target tree. The red-zone history (nine red-zone looks, four scores in 2025) keeps his touchdown floor alive, yet entering an age-30 season on a one-year deal, he's a wait-and-see streamer until the snaps confirm a real role.
