Preseason Projection vs. Reality
He finished WR66 last season at 6.2 points per game.
Our Take After Week 4
Through 1 game he's WR165 at 0.0 PPR points per game, against 6.2 over 15 games last season (WR66). He's running behind last season's pace.
Last season he ranked 79th of 142 in target volume (8.7% target share), 77th of 142 in downfield role (10.7% air-yards share) and 86th of 142 in efficiency (1.26 yards per route run). Efficiency is the soft spot. Bo Nix is his quarterback.
He's WR2 on the depth chart, so his value depends on the players ahead of him.
The next favorable matchup is the Cardinals in Week 7 (4th against WRs).
Read our preseason outlook (June 2026)
Published June 16, 2026. Kept for reference; the take above replaces it.
Mims took a step back in 2025, finishing as our WR86 with a tepid 0.069 EPA per play and a 41.2% success rate while logging just a 36.9% snap rate across 15 games. His 8.7% target share and 0.199 targets per route run translated to 37 catches for 322 yards and one score, and the 1.26 yards per route run badly undersold the explosive profile he flashed a year earlier (0.449 EPA, 2.76 YPRR, six touchdowns). The efficiency cratered as the role stayed part-time.
Denver's offseason did him no favors. Adding Jaylen Waddle behind Courtland Sutton pushes Mims into a target competition with Troy Franklin and Pat Bryant for whatever scraps remain. His return work keeps him relevant in special-teams scoring leagues, but as a pure receiver he profiles as a late-round dart and bench stash whose ceiling hinges on an injury opening reps ahead of him.
