Published June 17, 2026. Kept for reference; the take above replaces it.
Drafted 16th overall, Sadiq arrives with a rare athletic toolbox for the position: a 4.39 forty at 6-foot-3 and a 43-inch vertical that scream upside. The problem is everything around the traits. His Oregon production stayed modest at 1.62 yards per route run as a junior, and a 9 percent drop rate with too many body-catches points to real refinement still needed before the volume follows.
The situation does him no favors either. Geno Smith leads a passing game projected to underwhelm, and the target tree runs through Garrett Wilson, rookie Omar Cooper Jr., and Mason Taylor before it reaches him. A recent hernia surgery shouldn't cost camp, but the math caps near-term ceiling. Treat him as a high-end TE3 dart throw and a dynasty bet on the athleticism eventually winning out, not a 2026 starter you count on weekly.
