Our Take After Week 4

Through 3 games he's RB25 at 10.3 PPR points per game, against 14.9 over 17 games last season (RB10). He's running behind last season's pace.

Last season he ranked 13th of 95 in rushing volume (15.3 carries per game), 20th of 95 in receiving role (3.1 targets per game) and 33rd of 95 in efficiency (2.10 yards after contact per carry). His points come from his rushing volume. Efficiency is the soft spot. Tyler Shough is his quarterback.

He's on injured reserve, hamstring. Until he's back, his value is a bench spot at most.

The next favorable matchup is the Steelers in Week 7 (10th against RBs).

Read our preseason outlook (June 2026)

Published June 17, 2026. Kept for reference; the take above replaces it.

Etienne rebounded emphatically in 2025, playing all 17 games with 260 carries for 1,107 yards (4.26 YPC) and seven scores, plus 36 catches for 292 yards and six receiving touchdowns, totaling 217.9 fantasy points and an RB12 finish. That reversed a dismal 2024 (3.72 YPC, 91.2 points, RB35) and leaned on home-run ability: a 71-yard rush, three carries of 40-plus, a 10 percent explosive-run rate and 2.1 yards after contact, with zero fumbles all season. The 13 total touchdowns and 64 red-zone opportunities show restored goal-line and pass-game equity.

The 2026 twist is a move to New Orleans, where the depth chart lists him as RB1 ahead of Alvin Kamara, a backfield that could split work and cap his ceiling. Still just 27 and fresh off a three-down, every-game season, Etienne carries the draft capital and proven volume to anchor a lineup. Treat it cautiously, but he profiles as a back-end RB1 with weekly-starter upside if he holds the lead role.
