Our Take After Week 4

Through 3 games he's WR112 at 2.4 PPR points per game, against 10.4 over 17 games last season (WR31). He's running behind last season's pace.

Last season he ranked 30th of 142 in target volume (17.8% target share), 21st of 142 in downfield role (29.4% air-yards share) and 57th of 142 in efficiency (1.55 yards per route run). His points come from his downfield role. Efficiency is the soft spot. Bo Nix is his quarterback.

He's WR2 on the depth chart, so his value depends on the players ahead of him.

The next favorable matchup is the Cardinals in Week 7 (4th against WRs).

Read our preseason outlook (June 2026)

Published June 16, 2026. Kept for reference; the take above replaces it.

Franklin's sophomore leap was real: he climbed from WR107 to WR35, posting 65 grabs, 709 yards and six scores on 104 targets across 17 games. The underlying work backed the box score, with a 17.8% target share, a healthy 0.473 WOPR, 1.55 yards per route and a positive 0.064 EPA per play after he sat at minus-0.348 as a rookie. A 45.2% success rate and 12.7 air yards per target show a genuine downfield role, not empty volume.

The problem is opportunity. Denver's Jaylen Waddle acquisition shoves Franklin behind Courtland Sutton and Waddle into a crowded No. 3 job, where he splits leftover looks with Marvin Mims and Pat Bryant. Projections crater toward 36 catches and 396 yards, making him a late-round dart that only matters if an injury opens snaps. The talent earns a stash; the depth chart caps the ceiling.

Troy Franklin Fantasy Outlook FAQ

What is Troy Franklin's fantasy outlook for the rest of the 2026 season?

Troy Franklin projects as a downfield depth WR for deep leagues only for the rest of the 2026 season: waiver-wire material in 12-team PPR, 10-team PPR and half-PPR leagues. His downfield role (29.4% air-yards share, 21st of 142 WRs in 2025) supports that. His efficiency (1.55 yards per route run, 57th of 142 WRs in 2025) holds him back. See his live rank in Redraft Command.

What is Troy Franklin's rest-of-season fantasy ranking?

Troy Franklin is the WR112 in PPR points per game through Week 4. That puts him in depth WR territory, waiver-wire material in 10-team PPR leagues.

What is Troy Franklin's projected role going forward?

Troy Franklin is WR2 on the depth chart, so a bigger role needs an injury or a change ahead of him.

Will Troy Franklin get more targets?

Troy Franklin's targets are holding steady: 1.5 a game over his last two games against 1.3 for the season. His share of the offense is what his fantasy value rides on.

What is Troy Franklin's fantasy football upside?

Troy Franklin's upside: his ceiling this season is 3.7 PPR points (Week 2, WR85), his downfield role (29.4% air-yards share, 21st of 142 WRs in 2025) gives him a weekly floor to build on and the Cardinals in Week 7 is a top-10 matchup for WRs.

What could hurt Troy Franklin's fantasy value?

Troy Franklin's risks: his efficiency (1.55 yards per route run, 57th of 142 WRs in 2025) limits his scoring and the 49ers in Week 4 and the Seahawks in Week 6 are tough matchups. See his injury status and history.

How difficult is Troy Franklin's remaining fantasy schedule?

Difficult: of his next seven games, 1 comes against a top-10 matchup for WRs and 5 against one of the stingiest defenses, by PPR points allowed to the position.
