Our Take After Week 4

Through 3 games he's TE5 at 15.8 PPR points per game, against 14.7 over 11 games last season (TE13). He's running ahead of last season's pace.

Last season he ranked 29th of 81 in route participation (49.5%), 22nd of 82 in target share (12.5%) and 4th of 82 in efficiency (2.12 yards per route run). His points come from his efficiency. Route participation is the soft spot. Brock Purdy is his quarterback.

The job is secure: he's the listed starter and one of the best at his position. The main risk is health, and Luke Farrell is next on the depth chart if he misses time.

The next favorable matchup is the Commanders in Week 6 (2nd against TEs).

Published June 17, 2026. Kept for reference; the take above replaces it.

Even a shortened 2025 underscored why Kittle remains the position's efficiency king. Across 11 games he posted a 0.671 EPA per play with a 68.1% success rate, turned 69 targets into 57 catches at an 82.6% catch rate, and found the end zone seven times on just 13 red-zone looks. His 2.12 yards per route run and 2.27-clip career target value travel; in his full 2024 he ranked third at the position with 1,106 yards and 158.6 fantasy points. The talent isn't the question.

Health is. A January Achilles tear clouds his Week 1 availability against the Rams, and while he's reportedly on track, that timeline defies the norm and merits monitoring through camp. That risk has pushed his cost to roughly TE9 and the early triple digits overall, a steep discount for a player who could be peaking by the fantasy playoffs. Draft him as a mid-round upside swing and stash Jake Tonges as insurance.
