Published June 17, 2026. Kept for reference; the take above replaces it.
Nichols is a developmental back, not a draftable asset. He spent all of 2025 on Pittsburgh's practice squad and re-signed on a future contract this offseason, which keeps him in the building but says nothing about a defined role. The market reflects that reality: he sits around RB #211 in expert rankings and RB #207 in dynasty formats, with no ADP, no projection set, and effectively zero roster share across leagues.
The profile is worth noting only as a deep-stash flier. At 5'10" and 220 pounds, the 24-year-old Central Michigan product has the build to handle short-yardage and goal-line work if the depth chart thins out. But until he earns a 53-man roster spot and carves out touches ahead of the established backfield, there is no fantasy case to make here. Leave him on the wire and revisit only if camp news or an injury opens a lane.
