Preseason Projection vs. Reality
He finished RB127 last season at 0.9 points per game.
Our Take After Week 4
Through 1 game he's RB106 at 0.0 PPR points per game, against 0.9 over 2 games last season (RB127). The role is producing the same fantasy output two years running.
Last season he ranked 93rd of 95 in rushing volume (0.3 carries per game), 92nd of 95 in receiving role (0.0 targets per game) and 1st of 95 in efficiency (5.50 yards after contact per carry). His points come from his efficiency. Rushing volume is the soft spot. Caleb Williams is his quarterback.
He's RB3 on the depth chart, so his value depends on the players ahead of him.
The next favorable matchups are the Jets in Week 4 (9th against RBs) and the Packers in Week 5 (2nd against RBs).

Published June 16, 2026. Kept for reference; the take above replaces it.
Johnson's trajectory has gone the wrong direction every season. After a promising rookie year (81 carries, 4.35 yards per clip, a 34-catch receiving role and an RB48 finish), his usage cratered to a 2.73 mark on 55 totes in 2024, then collapsed entirely in 2025: six games, two carries, 1.7 fantasy points and a rank of 128. The 8.5 yards-per-carry and 0.679 EPA on that microscopic sample mean nothing without volume.
The job he was hyped to inherit went to seventh-round rookie Kyle Monangai, who locked down the clear backfield No. 2 while Johnson battled injuries. That leaves Johnson a distant third option with no realistic route to touches behind an entrenched, younger back. His goal-line work was the only fantasy hook (six rushing scores in 2024), and even that has dried up. He is waiver-wire depth at best and undraftable in standard formats this year.
