Preseason Projection vs. Reality
He finished TE41 last season at 5.4 points per game.
Our Take After Week 4
Through 3 games he's TE16 at 10.5 PPR points per game, against 5.4 over 13 games last season (TE41). He's running ahead of last season's pace.
Last season he ranked 49th of 81 in route participation (35.7%), 40th of 82 in target share (6.9%) and 32nd of 82 in efficiency (1.28 yards per route run). Route participation is the soft spot. Joe Burrow is his quarterback.
He's TE2 on the depth chart, so his value depends on the players ahead of him.
The next favorable matchup is the Dolphins in Week 5 (9th against TEs).

Published June 16, 2026. Kept for reference; the take above replaces it.
The 2024 version of Gesicki ranked 10th at the position on a 0.292 WOPR, 13.2% target share, and 83 targets that turned into 665 yards. None of that carried over. In 2025 he slid to TE36, drawing just 42 targets across 12 games for a 6.9% target share and a 0.175 target-per-route-run rate, while his route share cratered to 35.7% on a 38.5% snap rate. The 307 yards and two scores read like a backup line because that is what the role became.
The efficiency markers still flicker, a 0.127 EPA per play and 57.1% success rate, but volume that thin caps the ceiling. Cincinnati funnels everything to Chase, Higgins, and Chase Brown, with Fant and Sample splitting the leftovers behind him. He profiles as a touchdown-dependent dart in TE-premium and deep formats only, and a waiver name everywhere else until the snaps return.
