Core fantasy pieces

  • Puka Nacua

    WRTop-three overallQuestionable · Hip

A hundred and twenty-nine catches, 1,715 yards and the best yards-per-route figure in football.

    • 129 rec, 1,715 yds
    • 166 targets
    • 10 TD

A 28.6% target share and 3.71 yards a route run, with a 0.697 EPA a play and a 70.5% success rate, is the rare profile where the volume and the efficiency are both league-leading. Sixteen games rather than seventeen is the only asterisk, and his injury-shortened 2024 came with a career-high target rate — the share has never wavered. On the highest-scoring offence in the league, with Stafford back, there is no case against him.

  • Matthew Stafford

    QBTop-three QB1

Forty-six touchdowns against eight interceptions, at thirty-seven.

    • 4,707 pass yds
    • 46 TD, 8 INT
    • 17 games

Five hundred and ninety-seven attempts, 113 red-zone attempts and a 14.5% deep-attempt rate is elite volume used aggressively, and a 0.168 EPA a play means it was not empty. The jump from twenty touchdowns in 2024 to forty-six is partly touchdown variance and will not fully repeat. Nothing on the ground and seventeen years of mileage are the risks; a full season behind the league's best pass protection is the mitigation.

  • Kyren Williams

    RBRB2 on touchdowns

Sixty-three red-zone opportunities and eighteen goal-line carries — the volume is at the stripe.

    • 1,252 rush yds
    • 36 rec, 281 yds
    • 13 total TD

Two hundred and fifty-nine carries at 4.83 across all seventeen games, with thirteen total touchdowns, is a fourth straight season of the same profile: usage and scoring rather than breakaway speed. Blake Corum's 5.14 a carry is the threat, and it has been the threat for two years without costing Williams the job. Draft the goal-line share, which is the most valuable thing this offence has to give a running back.

  • Davante Adams

    WRTouchdown-dependent WR3

Fourteen touchdowns on sixty catches, and a 52.6% catch rate.

    • 60 rec, 789 yds
    • 114 targets
    • 14 TD

Thirty-two red-zone and twenty-three end-zone targets across fourteen games is the entire season — it funnelled into elite scoring rather than steady yardage, and the 1.94 yards a route run is the giveaway. A career-worst catch rate at his age is a trend rather than a blip. Fourteen touchdowns will not repeat, and in the weeks he does not score there is very little underneath it.

Secondary options

  • Blake Corum

    RBThe best handcuff in football

    5.14 a carry and a 15.9% explosive-run rate on a 29.1% snap share.

    • 746 rush yds
    • 6 rush TD
    • 5.1 yds/carry

One hundred and forty-five carries for 746 yards with no fumbles, on fewer than a third of the snaps, is the most productive complementary rushing season in the league, and the EPA flipped positive on the way. Fourteen targets means there is no passing-down role to stand on. Behind a lead back carrying 259 times on the highest-scoring offence in football, he is worth holding at a price nobody else's backup commands.

  • Colby Parkinson

    TEStreaming TEQuestionable · Shoulder

Eight touchdowns on fifty-six targets, in a room with three other tight ends.

    • 43 rec, 408 yds
    • 56 targets
    • 8 TD

Twenty-two red-zone and ten end-zone looks produced eight scores on a 9.6% target share, which is a scoring rate that needs the red-zone volume to repeat exactly. The underlying work improved across the board — a 76.8% catch rate and 1.31 yards a route run. Tyler Higbee still takes starter snaps and a second-round rookie is behind him, so this is a touchdown-or-nothing tight end on an offence that scores plenty of them.

  • Terrance Ferguson

    TEDynasty stashDoubtful · Ankle

    Twenty-one yards a catch as a rookie, on a 36.7% snap share.

    • 11 rec, 231 yds
    • 25 targets
    • 3 TD

Eighteen and a half air yards a target from a tight end is a genuinely unusual role and a 0.295 EPA a play says it worked, but a 44% catch rate is what a downfield-only usage produces. Twenty-five targets across eleven games is not a fantasy role in any format. The second-round pick and the three scores are the reason to watch the snap share this summer.

Bottom lineThe best offence in football by scoring, yardage, touchdowns and pass protection, which means everything here is priced accordingly and correctly. Puka Nacua is a top-three overall pick and Matthew Stafford is the safest quarterback on the board; Davante Adams's fourteen touchdowns on sixty catches is the one number on this page that is going to move the wrong way.

Usage & Opportunity Report

Updated through Week 4 · refreshed every Tuesday

Fantasy production follows opportunity, not the other way around — so this report tracks who's on the field and who the ball is going to, before the box score catches up. The essentials: target share (share of team pass attempts), snap share, and red-zone touches. The premium layer, in each player's expandable profile: first-read share (how often the play is designed for him), air-yards share (30%+ is the alpha-receiver threshold), and expected fantasy points (xFP) vs. fantasy points over expected (FPOE) — xFP is stable, repeatable volume; FPOE is efficiency that regresses. Route share (the % of dropbacks a player runs a route on — the stat that matters most for tight ends), targets per route run (TPRR) and yards per route run (YPRR — the best receiver efficiency stat there is) join the profiles when the league's route data is published. Since 2017, receivers at a 20%+ target share average 15.3 fantasy points per game; the 10–20% group averages 9.8. That cliff is why this table exists.

  • Pass rate over expected−0.8%13thThrows about as much as situations call for — the target tree, not the play-calling, decides who eats

  • 16Williams high-value touches (in-10 carries + targets)
  • 12.7Corum weighted opps/game
  • −0.4Williams wOpp/g vs. last season — the same role as last season

Why Williams's floor holds in PPR: He keeps 75% of the backs' third-down work as well as the early downs, so his catches don't depend on game script — a 62-catch pace. Trailing by 7+, he still gets 33% of the backs' work — no one takes the hurry-up snaps from him.

The Corum math if Williams misses time: Corum backs up the early-down role (the valuable ones). A Williams absence projects Corum to ~75% of weighted opportunities — about 30.2 a game, a top-12 weekly RB by volume — worth a bench spot in deeper leagues.

  • 5.249 attMiddle

Designed runs only; "Middle" includes runs behind either guard.

The right side is the run game's engine: 6.6 yards per carry off right end — 21% of all designed runs go that way. Interior volume (49 attempts) does the clock work at 5.2; the right edge does the damage. When the line's right side sits out practice, that's a usage note, not just an injury note.

The short middle is the efficiency engine (10.8 YPA). Stafford keeps 87% of his throws under 20 air yards, with the deep right his most explosive zone (23.2 YPA on 6 attempts). Mumpfield's fantasy problem, mapped: a 16.4-yard aDOT puts him in the 13% deep slice of this chart while the short middle feasts. Gold = highest-YPA high-volume zone.

Coaching Profile & Tendencies

Play-calling tendencies carry over from season to season when the play-caller stays the same — and become unreliable the moment he changes. That's the whole reason this module exists: before you trust any Rams projection, you need to know whose fingerprints are on the offense and how stable they are. For the Rams the answer is stable: Sean McVay called this offense last season too — his tenth year on its call sheet — so last year's tendencies still mean something.

Head coach · Tenth season as caller here · Primary play-caller

Sean McVay

Head of the Sean McVay tree, with Shanahan/Gruden roots

McVay continues as Los Angeles' primary offensive play-caller in 2026, as he has since becoming head coach in 2017. Nate Scheelhaase's promotion to offensive coordinator did not change that arrangement.

  • 52.6shotgun

    More shotgun.

Shotgun rate rose from 41% to 52.6% — a more spread, dropback-first identity, which usually travels with more targets for backs and slots.

  • 24.4play-action

    Less play-action.

Play-action rate fell from 34.6% to 24.4% of dropbacks — fewer of the scheme's easiest explosive throws, a quiet drag on downfield receiver efficiency.

  • −0.8PROE

    Leaning run on purpose.

Pass rate over expected moved from +3% to −0.8% — adjusted for situation, this staff now picks the run more often than expectation. Treat the backfield's volume as scheme, not script.

Offensive coordinator · Delegation watch

Nate Scheelhaase

Called Iowa State's offense in 2023; promoted to Rams OC in 2026 after two seasons on McVay's staff, and has received NFL preseason play-calling opportunities with the Rams, including the 2026 opener against Kansas City. McVay retains regular-season duties

A coordinator who has run his own offense before — which makes him the delegation scenario: if McVay ever hands off play-calling mid-season, the predictive baseline on this page changes with it. Watch the ledger above.

Defensive coordinator

Chris Shula

Highly multiple, adaptable defense featuring extensive dime personnel (32.4% in 2025, the NFL's highest dime rate since the 2023 Cowboys), simulated pressures, stunts and coverage disguise. Shula varies fronts and coverages by opponent while simplifying individual assignments to let players play fast

Through Week 4 the defense allows -0.08 EPA per play (7th in the NFL, a top-ten unit). A defense this stout tilts game script toward leads — more second-half carries, fewer desperation targets.

Staff continuity

Year 10

McVay's tenth season calling the Rams offense

A continuing install: same caller, same system, tenth year. That makes the 2025 column of the table above a legitimate baseline rather than another team's data.

The fantasy bottom line: tenth season of the same play-caller makes this one of the more projectable offenses in the league: shotgun rate below league average (52.6% vs 59%), and motion at snap above league average (64.1% vs 58%). The target tree leans WR, and the lead back holds 58% of the backfield's weighted opportunities.
