Seattle Seahawks Fantasy Football Outlook & Stats 2026
Written before Week 1Updated September 2026
Seattle scored 28.4 points a game, third in the league, on the 21st-fastest offence and while giving the ball away twenty-eight times, 31st. Jaxon Smith-Njigba commanded a 35.8% target share — the highest in football — and 48.8% of the team's air yards. Kenneth Walker is in Kansas City, and Zach Charbonnet's knee is expected to keep him out into the season.

Core fantasy pieces
Jaxon Smith-Njigba
WRTop-two overall
The highest target share in football, and 48.8% of the air yards on top of it.
- 119 rec, 1,793 yds
- 163 targets
- 10 TD
A 35.8% target share, a 0.879 WOPR and 3.81 yards a route run across all seventeen games is not a good season, it is the whole offence — he ran a route on 93.3% of dropbacks. The efficiency matched the volume at a 0.556 EPA a play and a 63.2% success rate, both large jumps on the year before. Rashid Shaheed and a new coordinator might trim a target or two at the edges; nothing trims a share this size.
Zach Charbonnet
RBRB2 with a kneePUPPUP · Knee - ACL
Twelve rushing touchdowns on eighteen goal-line carries, and a knee that may cost him September.
- 730 rush yds
- 12 rush TD
- 20 rec, 144 yds
Fifty-four red-zone opportunities and eighteen goal-line carries is the most valuable usage a back can have, and it carried a 3.97-yard average and a flat EPA — this is a scoring profile rather than a rushing one. The receiving role shrank to twenty catches, so there is no PPR cushion when the touchdowns dry up. The knee is expected to keep him out into the season, which is both the risk and the reason he is not being drafted as a back with twelve scores.
Jadarian Price
RBRookie RB3 with a clear pathQQuestionable · Chest
A first-round pick into a backfield with Walker gone and Charbonnet hurt.
- 1st-round rookie
- Walker departed
- Charbonnet (knee)
Seattle traded Kenneth Walker to Kansas City and drafted Price to replace him, and the only bodies between him and lead duties while Charbonnet rehabs are journeymen. The offence ran nineteen touchdowns in and scored 28.4 points a game, so the job is worth having. What he does with it once Charbonnet is fit is the open question, and it is the reason to buy the early-season role rather than the season.
Sam Darnold
QBBack-end QB1
Two straight top-five fantasy seasons, and ninety-five rushing yards to show for the second one.
- 4,048 pass yds
- 25 TD, 14 INT
- 95 rush yds
Four thousand yards and twenty-five scores across all seventeen games, with a 5.2 completion rate over expected and fifty-seven throws of 20-plus yards, is a genuine QB1 season produced on a below-average number of plays. The touchdowns fell from thirty-five to twenty-five year over year and the fourteen interceptions are part of why Seattle was 31st in giveaways. No rushing floor at all means a quiet passing week is a lost week.
AJ Barner
TEBack-end TE1
A snap share that went from 45.1% to 77.3%, and the efficiency held.
- 52 rec, 519 yds
- 68 targets
- 6 TD
A 0.411 EPA a play and a 64.7% success rate on a 14.9% target share, with thirteen red-zone and six end-zone looks, is a tight end who earned the volume rather than inheriting it. Seattle added no pass-catchers, so behind Smith-Njigba's enormous share he is the obvious second beneficiary of any extra throwing. Six touchdowns on an offence that scored 28.4 a game is a repeatable number.
Secondary options
Rashid Shaheed
WRBoom-or-bust WR3
A 22% air-yards share, and two touchdowns to go with it.
- 59 rec, 687 yds
- 92 targets
- 2 TD
A 16.3% target share on a 90.7% route rate is real volume and 11.45 air yards a target is the role — he is the one player here who takes the top off a defence that has to account for Smith-Njigba first. The efficiency dipped to minus-0.047 EPA a play and a 45.7% success rate, which is what a deep-only diet produces when the throws do not connect. A 64.1% catch rate is a thin weekly floor.
Cooper Kupp
WRDeep-league only
Twelve red-zone targets and two touchdowns, third in line for the ball.
- 47 rec, 593 yds
- 70 targets
- 2 TD
A 15.4% target share down from 18.5%, with the WOPR falling from 0.406 to 0.329, is a steady decline rather than a bad year, and at thirty-three there is no reason to expect it to reverse. He can still move the chains — 6.23 yards after the catch a reception is genuinely good. Behind Smith-Njigba and Shaheed, on an offence running 59.7 plays a game, that is a bench receiver.
Tory Horton
WRTouchdown lottery ticket
Five touchdowns on thirteen catches as a rookie.
- 13 rec, 161 yds
- 22 targets
- 5 TD
Fifteen air yards a target and a 0.466 EPA a play with no drops, across eight games, is a genuinely promising downfield profile on a fifth-round pick. Five scores on thirteen receptions is not a rate anybody sustains, and a 4.8% target share is what is actually on offer. Worth a final pick in a deep league on the chance the snaps grow.
Bottom lineJaxon Smith-Njigba is the most concentrated target share in the league on the third-highest-scoring offence, and there is no argument for taking anyone else in this passing game seriously by comparison. The backfield is the opportunity: twelve touchdowns went to a back whose knee will cost him the start of the season, and the rookie replacing Kenneth Walker inherits all of it in the meantime.
Usage & Opportunity Report
Updated through Week 4 · refreshed every Tuesday
Fantasy production follows opportunity, not the other way around — so this report tracks who's on the field and who the ball is going to, before the box score catches up. The essentials: target share (share of team pass attempts), snap share, and red-zone touches. The premium layer, in each player's expandable profile: first-read share (how often the play is designed for him), air-yards share (30%+ is the alpha-receiver threshold), and expected fantasy points (xFP) vs. fantasy points over expected (FPOE) — xFP is stable, repeatable volume; FPOE is efficiency that regresses. Route share (the % of dropbacks a player runs a route on — the stat that matters most for tight ends), targets per route run (TPRR) and yards per route run (YPRR — the best receiver efficiency stat there is) join the profiles when the league's route data is published. Since 2017, receivers at a 20%+ target share average 15.3 fantasy points per game; the 10–20% group averages 9.8. That cliff is why this table exists.
- Pass rate over expected−2.7%21stThrows about as much as situations call for — the target tree, not the play-calling, decides who eats

- Jadarian Price 37.8%
- Emanuel Wilson 30.6%
- George Holani 26.1%
- Other backs 5.4%
Share of the backs' carries + targets in each situation. Snap-by-snap splits need the league's participation data, which is published after the season.
- 14.0Price weighted opps/game — RB33 in the NFL
- 9Price high-value touches (in-10 carries + targets)
- 11.3Wilson weighted opps/game
Why Price's reception count stays capped: Emanuel Wilson owns 56% of the backs' third-down work and 44% of two-minute work. Price's 23-catch pace isn't a talent question — the passing-down role belongs to Wilson. Green flag for his rushing floor, hard ceiling on his PPR upside.
The Wilson math if Price misses time: Wilson backs up the early-down and red-zone roles (the valuable ones). A Price absence projects Wilson to ~52% of weighted opportunities — about 19.4 a game, an RB2 by volume — and why he's a STASH, not a cut.

The right side is the run game's engine: 6.4 yards per carry behind right tackle and 4.4 off right end — 29% of all designed runs go that way, and all three of Price's three longest runs came off the right side. Interior volume (40 attempts) does the clock work at 2.8; the right edge does the damage. When the line's right side sits out practice, that's a usage note, not just an injury note.

The alpha profile, fully formed. A 51.9% air-yards share clears the 30% alpha threshold, a 48.4% first-read share says the offense is designed through him, and a 9.7-yard aDOT sits in the sweet spot — deep enough for ceiling, not so deep it gets volatile. A shared backfield. 38% of the weighted opportunities means another back takes a real cut every week, so his floor rises and falls with game script. Coaching Profile & Tendencies
Play-calling tendencies carry over from season to season when the play-caller stays the same — and become unreliable the moment he changes. That's the whole reason this module exists: before you trust any Seahawks projection, you need to know whose fingerprints are on the offense and how stable they are. For the Seahawks the answer is: new fingerprints. Brian Fleury is calling this offense for the first time in 2026, though from the same scheme family as his predecessor — so the 2026 sample, not last year's, is the signal.

Seattle hired Fleury to call the offense after Klint Kubiak left to become Raiders head coach, and the 2026 opener was Fleury's first regular-season game as an offensive play-caller. Macdonald: 'All play callers have to be first-time play callers at some point.'

Drives stay alive.
The go rate on short 4th downs jumped from 64% to 100%. Extended drives convert field-goal range into red-zone trips — touchdowns instead of three points.
34.7play-action
More play-action.
Play-action rate rose from 25.3% to 34.7% of dropbacks. Play-action throws travel farther and produce more yards per attempt league-wide — a boost to downfield receiver efficiency.
1.7no-huddle
The huddle is back.
No-huddle rate fell from 7.4% to 1.7%. A more deliberate operation usually means fewer total snaps — a quiet tax on everyone's volume.

Primary play-caller — see the card above
The call sheet runs through the coordinator here: Brian Fleury has the play-calling duties while head coach Mike Macdonald runs the game. The profile on this page is his.
Defensive coordinator
Aden Durde
Macdonald-led, disguise-heavy defense built around extensive nickel/dime and two-high shells, simulated pressures and unpredictable four-man rushes — the NFL's No. 1 scoring defense and No. 1 defensive DVOA in 2025 despite a bottom-six blitz rate. Macdonald remains the regular-season defensive play-caller; Durde coordinates preparation and game planning and receives preseason calling reps.
Through Week 4 the defense allows -0.16 EPA per play (3rd in the NFL, a top-ten unit). A defense this stout tilts game script toward leads — more second-half carries, fewer desperation targets.

First-year installs carry the highest tendency risk in football: terminology, staff and quarterback relationships are all new at once. Weight what this staff is doing now over anything carried forward from 2025.

Lead back's share of backfield weighted opportunities, by season (* = previous staff).
Starred seasons were a previous staff's — context, not this caller's record. No clean trend: the lead back's share of backfield weighted opportunities (carries + 2×targets) has moved around season to season. Treat the current split as the read and revisit it weekly.

A 37-point pass-rate swing between leading and trailing. Ahead, the backfield eats; behind, the targets spike — check the spread before you set a flex. Play counts are shown so you can weigh each bucket's sample.
The fantasy bottom line: a new play-caller means 2025 data is context at best — what you can bank on is what Fleury is showing now: 4th-down go rate above league average (100% vs 75%), and shotgun rate below league average (46.6% vs 59%). The target tree leans TE, and the lead back holds 38% of the backfield's weighted opportunities.
