Our Take After Week 4

Through 4 games he's TE2 at 9.7 PPR points per game, against 6.7 over 17 games last season (TE25). He's running ahead of last season's pace.

Last season he ranked 23rd of 81 in route participation (56.3%), 25th of 82 in target share (10.3%) and 19th of 82 in efficiency (1.49 yards per route run). His points come from his efficiency. Aaron Rodgers is his quarterback.

The job is secure: he's the listed starter and one of the best at his position. The main risk is health, and Darnell Washington is next on the depth chart if he misses time.

The next favorable matchups are the Colts in Week 5 (7th against TEs) and the Saints in Week 7 (3rd against TEs).

Read our preseason outlook (June 2026)

Published June 17, 2026. Kept for reference; the take above replaces it.

Freiermuth slid backward in 2025, catching 41 of 54 targets for 486 yards and four touchdowns over 15 games, good for just 72.6 fantasy points and a TE24 rank. That is a sharp drop from his TE12 2024, when a 79.6 percent route share and 17 percent target share fueled 65 grabs, 653 yards and seven scores worth 105.3 points. His snap share collapsed from 69.3 to 50.4 percent and routes fell from 434 to 326, gutting the volume that made him a back-end starter.

The efficiency was actually elite, a 0.432 EPA per play and zero drops on 41 catches, but the role shrank around him. As a 2021 second-rounder now 26, his floor still rests on red-zone work (nine red-zone targets, four end-zone looks), yet a 10.3 percent target share makes weekly reliability tenuous. Treat him as a matchup-based streaming TE2, not a set-and-forget option.
