Our Take After Week 4

Through 1 game he's QB50 at −0.3 PPR points per game, against −0.0 over 5 games last season (QB75). The role is producing the same fantasy output two years running.

The next favorable matchups are the Eagles in Week 5 (7th against QBs) and the Texans in Week 6 (9th against QBs).

Read our preseason outlook (June 2026)

Published June 17, 2026. Kept for reference; the take above replaces it.

Mullens remains exactly what his career resume says: a journeyman backup whose snaps come only when the starter is hurt. The 2025 sample is essentially noise, four games and three pass attempts for 19 yards and 0.0 fantasy points behind Trevor Lawrence, and 2024 was the same story in Minnesota. You have to go back to his 2023 fill-in run to find real volume: 148 attempts, 1,306 yards, 7 touchdowns against 8 interceptions over five starts, good for just 66.7 fantasy points and a 36 positional rank.

That 2023 stretch is the cautionary tale, a 20 percent bad-throw rate and turnover-heavy gunslinging that produced points but never sustained efficiency. Now 31 and locked behind a healthy, ascending Lawrence, Mullens has no realistic path to meaningful snaps. He carries no redraft or dynasty value and should not be rostered in any standard format. He is a deep two-QB streaming dart only if Lawrence goes down, and even then a low-ceiling one.
