Our Take After Week 4

Through 3 games he's RB28 at 8.3 PPR points per game, against 12.8 over 14 games last season (RB25). He's running behind last season's pace.

Last season he ranked 38th of 95 in rushing volume (9.3 carries per game), 30th of 95 in receiving role (2.6 targets per game) and 8th of 95 in efficiency (2.77 yards after contact per carry). His points come from his efficiency. Rushing volume is the soft spot. Drake Maye is his quarterback.

He's RB2 on the depth chart, so his value depends on the players ahead of him.

The next favorable matchups are the Bills in Week 4 (4th against RBs) and the Jets in Week 6 (9th against RBs).

Read our preseason outlook (June 2026)

Published June 17, 2026. Kept for reference; the take above replaces it.

Stevenson bounced back in 2025 despite playing 14 games, climbing to 146.8 fantasy points (RB25) on far better per-touch work: 4.64 yards per carry versus 3.87 in 2024, with explosive-run rate up to 11.54 percent and 2.77 yards after contact. He forced a broken tackle every 8.1 carries (16 total) and scored a career-best seven rushing plus two receiving touchdowns, while adding 32 catches for 345 yards at 10.78 per reception. His 31 red-zone opportunities and 11 goal-line carries underline genuine scoring equity.

The 2021 fourth-rounder (Pick 120, Oklahoma) remains New England's lead back, though three fumbles and a -0.044 EPA per play keep him short of elite, and added backfield competition could trim the workload. With a three-down role, goal-line work and PPR usage intact, his volume floor and touchdown upside make him a back-end RB2 with weekly-starter weeks. Target him in the RB20-25 range as a stable, if unspectacular, contributor.
