Philadelphia Eagles Fantasy Football Outlook & Stats 2026
Written before Week 1Updated September 2026
Philadelphia scored 22.3 points a game on the 25th-fastest offence in the league — a deliberate, low-volume attack that protects the football and finished 7th in turnover margin. A.J. Brown is in New England, which makes DeVonta Smith the unambiguous first read for the first time. Jalen Hurts ran in eight touchdowns and Dallas Goedert caught eleven.

Core fantasy pieces

Jalen Hurts
QBTop-four QB1
Thirty-three total touchdowns on an offence that ranked 23rd in passing yards.
- 3,224 pass yds
- 25 TD, 6 INT
- 421 rush yds, 8 TD
Twenty-five through the air and eight on the ground, at a 98.5 rating with only six interceptions — this is the most touchdown-efficient quarterback in football relative to his volume. The passing yardage will never be exciting because Philadelphia does not run enough plays to make it so. The goal-line rushing is the entire edge and it has been stable for years; it is what keeps him ahead of quarterbacks who throw for a thousand more yards.

Saquon Barkley
RBRB1 on volume
317 touches, and 4.1 a carry doing it.
- 1,140 rush yds
- 37 rec, 273 yds
- 9 total TD
Two hundred and eighty carries is a top-three workload and 4.1 yards a carry is the lowest efficiency of his time here, which is the tension in drafting him. Nine touchdowns is a fair return on a team where Hurts takes the short-yardage carries himself — that is eight scores a year Barkley structurally cannot have. The volume makes him an RB1; nothing about the profile suggests a return to the per-carry numbers that made him a first-round pick.
DeVonta Smith
WRWR2 with WR1 volume incomingQQuestionable · Hamstring
1,008 yards while sharing the offence, and now he is not sharing it.
- 77 rec, 1,008 yds
- 113 targets
- 4 TD
A thousand yards on 113 targets across all seventeen games is a strong season and it was produced with A.J. Brown drawing the coverage. Brown's departure hands him the entire first-read share of a passing game that, admittedly, throws for only 204.7 a game. Four touchdowns is the number to expect to improve — Philadelphia threw twenty-six and he caught a small fraction of them.
Makai Lemon
WRRookie WR2
Philadelphia traded up in the first round for him, into a room with one established receiver.
- 1st-round rookie
- Biletnikoff winner
- 3 drops in two years
Three drops on roughly 175 college targets across his final two seasons, from a 5-foot-11 USC receiver who can win from the slot or outside, is the most polished route profile in this draft class — and the Eagles moved up to take him. A.J. Brown's departure leaves one genuine target share unclaimed and Marquise Brown is the only other candidate for it. The cautions are a hamstring that cost him practice reps and an offence that runs 59.4 plays a game; the ceiling is still the highest in the room behind Smith.
Dallas Goedert
TETop-three TEDDoubtful · Knee - MCL
Eleven touchdowns on eighty-two targets — nobody at the position scored more efficiently.
- 60 rec, 591 yds
- 82 targets
- 11 TD
Sixty catches for 591 yards is unremarkable and eleven touchdowns is extraordinary, and the second number is not luck: this offence stalls inside the twenty and throws to its tight end there. The 9.9 yards a reception tells you the yardage will not carry a week on its own. He is a touchdown-driven TE1, which at this position beats a yardage-driven one nearly every time.
Secondary options
Marquise Brown
WRWR3 in a vacated roleQQuestionable · Ankle
Arrives from Kansas City into the target share A.J. Brown left behind.
- 49 rec, 587 yds
- 74 targets
- 5 TD
Forty-nine catches and five scores on 74 targets is efficient complementary work, and the opportunity in front of him is the largest of his recent career — the Eagles have one established receiver and a vacancy opposite him. The caution is the offence itself: 59.4 plays a game and 204.7 passing yards is not an environment that supports two productive receivers, and a first-round rookie wants the same job. He is competing with Makai Lemon to be the WR2 on a team that may only feed one.
Tank Bigsby
RBHandcuff
5.7 yards a carry on sixty-three attempts, behind a 280-carry starter.
- 356 rush yds
- 5.7 yds/carry
- 2 TD
Three hundred and fifty-six yards on 63 carries is the best per-carry figure in this backfield by a wide margin, and it came in Jacksonville rather than here. He does nothing in the passing game — four targets — so he is a pure rushing handcuff. Behind a back carrying 280 times at 4.1, that is a genuinely valuable thing to hold in a deep league.
Dontayvion Wicks
WRDeep bench
Forty-six targets in Green Bay, arriving into a two-receiver offence.
- 30 rec, 332 yds
- 46 targets
- 2 TD
Thirty catches for 332 yards is a fourth-receiver line and that is roughly the job available to him here behind Smith and Marquise Brown. Philadelphia's snap count is the ceiling on everyone in this room and he starts third in the queue for it. Worth knowing the name in a deep league; not worth a pick in a normal one.
Bottom lineThis is a low-volume offence that converts what it gets into touchdowns better than almost anyone, which is why Hurts and Goedert outperform their yardage every year. DeVonta Smith inheriting A.J. Brown's targets is the clearest opportunity on the roster, and Saquon Barkley's 4.1 a carry is the clearest warning.
Usage & Opportunity Report
Updated through Week 4 · refreshed every Tuesday
Fantasy production follows opportunity, not the other way around — so this report tracks who's on the field and who the ball is going to, before the box score catches up. The essentials: target share (share of team pass attempts), snap share, and red-zone touches. The premium layer, in each player's expandable profile: first-read share (how often the play is designed for him), air-yards share (30%+ is the alpha-receiver threshold), and expected fantasy points (xFP) vs. fantasy points over expected (FPOE) — xFP is stable, repeatable volume; FPOE is efficiency that regresses. Route share (the % of dropbacks a player runs a route on — the stat that matters most for tight ends), targets per route run (TPRR) and yards per route run (YPRR — the best receiver efficiency stat there is) join the profiles when the league's route data is published. Since 2017, receivers at a 20%+ target share average 15.3 fantasy points per game; the 10–20% group averages 9.8. That cliff is why this table exists.
- Pass rate over expected−6.7%26thRuns more than game situations call for — a cap on the pass-catchers' volume and a floor under Barkley
- Red-zone pass rate46%27thRun-first inside the 20 — Hurts's legs cap the receivers' TDs
- Neutral pace34.1s26th fastestSeconds per play in neutral situations — a slow offense shrinks the pie
- Plays per game56.726thOffensive plays a game — fewer snaps to go around, so shares matter more
- Team xFP / game78.925thTotal expected fantasy points this offense creates — a thin pie, so only the top shares pay
The Target Tree

The Backfield Split
Who owns which situations — the RB stat that actually predicts the box score.
- Saquon Barkley 54.1%
- Tank Bigsby 23.5%
- Will Shipley 22.4%
Share of the backs' carries + targets in each situation. Snap-by-snap splits need the league's participation data, which is published after the season.
- 15.3Barkley weighted opps/game — RB30 in the NFL
- 8Barkley high-value touches (in-10 carries + targets)
- 6.7Bigsby weighted opps/game
- −8.5Barkley wOpp/g vs. last season — a smaller role than last season
Why Barkley's floor holds in PPR: He keeps 43% of the backfield's targets as well as the early downs, so his catches don't depend on game script — a 17-catch pace. Trailing by 7+, he still gets 58% of the backs' work — no one takes the hurry-up snaps from him.
The Bigsby math if Barkley misses time: Bigsby backs up the early-down and red-zone roles (the valuable ones). A Barkley absence projects Bigsby to ~55% of weighted opportunities — about 15.4 a game, flex volume at best.

The left side is the run game's engine: 5.3 yards per carry behind left tackle and 3.8 off left end — 31% of all designed runs go that way. Interior volume (25 attempts) does the clock work at 3.7; the left edge does the damage. When the line's left side sits out practice, that's a usage note, not just an injury note.

The alpha profile, fully formed. A 48.1% air-yards share clears the 30% alpha threshold, a 39.6% first-read share says the offense is designed through him, and a 12-yard aDOT sits in the sweet spot — deep enough for ceiling, not so deep it gets volatile. A shared backfield. 54% of the weighted opportunities means another back takes a real cut every week, so his floor rises and falls with game script. A starter's share without the alpha tag. A 17% target share and 10 expected points a game, with a 15.1% first-read share; a 30.2% air-yards share decides how much of that turns into yards. Coaching Profile & Tendencies
Play-calling tendencies carry over from season to season when the play-caller stays the same — and become unreliable the moment he changes. That's the whole reason this module exists: before you trust any Eagles projection, you need to know whose fingerprints are on the offense and how stable they are. For the Eagles the answer is: new fingerprints. Sean Mannion is calling this offense for the first time in 2026 — so the 2026 sample, not last year's, is the signal.

Pass rate rose from 57.8% to 62.4%. More pass attempts means more target volume for the receivers and backs who catch it — the simplest kind of fantasy raise.

Play-action rate fell from 22.3% to 17.9% of dropbacks — fewer of the scheme's easiest explosive throws, a quiet drag on downfield receiver efficiency.

How he distributes the ball
Target split by position this season — Mannion has no earlier NFL play-calling seasons to average in.
Filled bar = Mannion offenses · thin marker = league average
The lean: wide receivers run 8 points above league average under Mannion (67% vs 59%). Position splits this stable are scheme, and scheme is what carries week to week.
How he manages a backfield
Lead back's share of backfield weighted opportunities, by season (* = previous staff).
Starred seasons were a previous staff's — context, not this caller's record. No clean trend: the lead back's share of backfield weighted opportunities (carries + 2×targets) has moved around season to season. Treat the current split as the read and revisit it weekly.
Play-calling by score state
Pass rate when leading, close, and trailing, 2026 through Week 4.
Ahead, the backfield eats; behind, the targets spike — check the spread before you set a flex. Through Week 4 some of these buckets are thin (play counts shown), so treat the splits as early reads.
The fantasy bottom line: a new play-caller means 2025 data is context at best — what you can bank on is what Mannion is showing now: no-huddle rate above league average (16.5% vs 6%), and red-zone pass rate below league average (46% vs 56%). The target tree leans WR, and the lead back holds 54% of the backfield's weighted opportunities.
