Our Take After Week 4

Through 3 games he's QB2 at 27.3 PPR points per game, against 20.8 over 9 games last season (QB24). He's running ahead of last season's pace.

Last season he ranked 14th of 41 in passing volume (31.6 attempts per game), 3rd of 41 in efficiency (0.23 EPA per play) and 21st of 41 in rushing (16.3 rush yards per game). His points come from his efficiency. Rushing is the soft spot. Christian McCaffrey and Mike Evans are his top two targets.

The job is secure: he's the listed starter and one of the best at his position. The main risk is health, and Mac Jones is next on the depth chart if he misses time.

The next favorable matchup is the Commanders in Week 6 (2nd against QBs).

Read our preseason outlook (June 2026)

Published June 17, 2026. Kept for reference; the take above replaces it.

Even hobbled by turf toe in 2025, Purdy posted a 0.229 EPA per play, a 54% success rate, and a 7.2 CPOE across nine starts -- elite efficiency that ranks among the best in the league when he plays. The problem was availability: nine games capped him at 2,167 yards and 177 fantasy points, and a 12.3% bad-throw rate hints at lingering discomfort. Across 2023-24 he cleared 290 fantasy points twice while throwing for 30-plus combined scores, so the ceiling is established when his body cooperates.

The weaponry got an overhaul, with Mike Evans and Christian Kirk joining McCaffrey and Pearsall, though Kittle's Achilles recovery clouds the early schedule. Projections call for roughly 4,150 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 300-plus fantasy points, and his 33 carries and three rushing scores in 2025 add a usable floor. At an ADP near pick 96 and a back-end QB1 tag, he's a profit play -- buy the efficiency and bet on health.
